image Shawna Woudstra At the young age of 8, Shawna Woudstra made the switch from ballet to drag racing when her father, Dan Woudstra, bought two Jr. Dragsters as an investment. His intention was to make a quick profit on the two cars, but Shawna was quick to object. She took a liking to the cars and within the next couple of months Shawna was at the local GO train station parking lot testing out the car. Now, she’s been racing for over a decade and doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon. With 9 year’s experience in the Jr. Dragster, she is now racing a Top Dragster in the Pro Comp class at Toronto Motor Sports Park in Cayuga, Ont. When she’s not on the track she can be found on campus of the University of Guelph where she’s studying Applied Science in the Adult Development program to one day become a family therapist.
